In addition, we are dedicated to keeping you and your staff educated on the most current periodontal and dental implant procedures. Our implant study clubs are designed to help you grow your practice, gain the knowledge and skills to offer your patients dental implants as a treatment option.

We continue to have well known and respected leaders in the field of implant dentistry come to Hagerstown for day or evening presentations.

We also periodically have practice management speakers for the staff and doctors.

Doctor News:

Dr. Fred Bye attended the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) Winter Symposium held in Orlando, Florida from January 25-27, 2007. The symposium featured various well-known speakers such as Dr. Carl Misch, Dr. Michael Pikos, and Dr. Craig Misch. Various techniques and procedures were discussed. Also attending this course was Deena Anderson.

Dr. Fred Bye spoke on April 10, 2007 at the Cumberland Valley Dental Society Meeting at the Orchards Restaurant in Chambersburg, PA. The topic was ?Periodontics: State of the Art.? A number of new, state-of-the-art procedures, such as soft tissue grafting with AlloDerm, Platelet Rich Plasma, esthetic crown lengthening, sinus grafts, as well as autogenous or allograft monocortical block grafting for ridge augmentation were presented. They also demonstrated SimPlant.

Dr. Fred Bye attended the SimPlant Academy World Conference held in Washington, D.C. on June 1-2, 2007. The courses taught the complete procedure from patient diagnosis to guided surgery, including hands-on drilling sessions with SurgiGuides. The purpose was to use the SimPlant software to its fullest potential.

Dr. Fred Bye spoke in September 2007 at the Washington County Dental Society Nemacolin Weekend Retreat on “Periodontics: State of the Art.”

In 2008, the doctors presented “Periodontics: State of the Art” and “Implant Prosthetics for the Edentulous Patient” for the Washington County Dental Society. The latter program was also presented at the Frederick County Dental Society and the Gettysburg/Hanover Dental Society. The lecture was then presented at the Cumberland Valley Dental Society in 2009.

In 2009, Dr. Bye began a series of continuing education seminars for dental hygienists in the area. Courses were given on March 31st, April 28th, and June 2nd.

Dr. Bye attended the BioHorizons Global Symposium 2009-“Integrating Technology for the Continuum of Care” in May. The doctors travelled to Chicago, IL to learn about important implant and regeneration topics.

In July 2009, Dr. Bye travelled to Kenai, Alaska to speak for the Kenai/Kodiak Dental Society. The title of the lecture was “Dental Implant Prosthetics in the Esthetic Zone.”

In April 2010, Dr. Fred Bye lectured at Hagerstown Community College to the Dental Assisting program.

The doctors had the honor of speaking again at the Kenai/Kodiak Dental Society in Kenai, Alaska again. They presented, “Esthetic Zone: Perio-Restorative Interrelationships.”

In January 2011, Dr. Fred Bye were selected for Top 3 Dentists. Their website allows consumers to choose dental professionals based on the highest standards.

On January 7-8 the doctors attended the annual NASP (North American Society of Periodontists) meeting in Dallas, Texas.

In September 2011, Dr. Bye, along with team members Shirley and Cindy, participated in Convoy of Hope in Hagerstown, MD. They were able to provide services, advice, and dental health supplies to many people who cannot afford dental care.

In November 2011 the doctors will be attending the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) annual meeting in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Fred Bye is hosting their first annual Dentistry from the Heart event on February 18, 2012. Along with several other volunteers, The doctors will offer the choice of an extraction, filling, or cleaning on a first-come, first-serve basis for free to those in need. In 2001, Dentistry from the Heart started with Dr. Vincent Monticciolo who wanted to give back to the community and to provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. Dentistry from the Heart is a registered non-profit organization that provides free dental work for people in need. Since its inception, Dentistry from the Heart has grown to include over 200 annual events nationwide and has provided more than 60,000 people with an estimated $8 million in free dental care services.
